About:
Iamesi Village is located on approximately 0.7 acres at the intersection of Bassett and Terraine Streets in downtown San Jose. This 135 unit apartment building offers 118 studio units, 16 one-bedroom units at 30-50% of the Area Median Income. Award-winning architectural firm OJK Architecture and Planning (now Architects FORA) designed these apartments to enhance the existing neighborhood. The building is five stories of residential units over parking with a density of 207 dwelling units per acre.

Iamesi Village is the affordable portion of the North San Pedro Residential Project, a large multi-phased housing master plan being developed by Intracorp Companies, Barry Swenson Builder, and First Community Housing, in partnership with the San Jose Redevelopment Agency. The 5.72-acre site is immediately adjacent to San Jose’s Downtown Core Area. FCH’s involvement with the project enabled the RDA to secure a $24 million Infill Infrastructure Grant from the State of California.
The North San Pedro Residential Project area connects a recently redeveloped area of downtown with Guadalupe Park and the commercial shopping area of San Pedro Square. Rebuilding the traditional neighborhood street grid and developing a new residential community with a variety of unit types will provide a fabric that connects currently separated sections of the city. Residential neighborhoods to the north are linked, via new community park and paseos, to the shopping and entertainment at North San Pedro Square as well as the central business district and downtown amenities. Residential neighborhoods to the east will be able to walk through a pleasant, safe and well landscaped community to access Guadalupe Park to the west. The development enhances San Jose’s urban lifestyle, connects with public transportation and compliments the surrounding community.
Green Features:
The building is LEED Platinum certified – a green/sustainable building design – with a large exterior landscaped podium.
